The artists of the Akvarell Nu -exhibition come, in addition to Finland, from Iceland, Norway and Sweden. At the same time, photographer Martti Matilainen’s exhibition “Back to nature” opens in the lower floor of Voipaala. At the end of April, it’s time for the Emil art school’s annual student work exhibition.
In the summer, the premises of the Voipaala Art Center will be taken over by the wonderful Ars-Häme ry artists´ association’s 50th anniversary exhibition, curated by Olivia Franke, director of the German Künstlerhaus Lukas. The Guardians of the Secret -exhibition discusses the importance of defending secrecy in a world increasingly shaped by openness and transparency. The unknown and the mysterious are necessary aspects of human existence, even though we live in the midst of a culture that emphasizes knowledge and understanding.
In the fall, Rihmastoryhmä will take over Voipaala with its World Tree – Mundus Arbore -exhibition, which will display several works from paintings to sculptures. In the winter, Valkeakoski’s own artists’ association, Valkeakosken Kuvataiteilijat ry, which in 2025 will turn respectable 60 years old, celebrates the event with a comprehensive gala exhibition at the Voipaala Art Center.
